Leren & Ontwikkelen

De slogan van ons netwerk luidt 'Samen kennis maken, delen, en toepassen'. Om samen de ouderenzorg te ondersteunen in innoveren, delen we nieuw ontwikkelde kennis in de vorm van verschillende kennisproducten en onderwijs met de beroepspraktijk en met studenten. Bovendien bieden we ondersteuning bij implementatie. Met de jaarlijkse UNC-ZH Stimuleringssubsidie en het platform voor academische verpleegkunde stimuleren wij innovatie in de beroepspraktijk.

Participation

Research in the focus area 'Participation' focuses on the involvement of both older people and their loved ones and family. Successful cooperation between care providers, researchers, the elderly and their relatives is essential for a good quality of life for the older persons and their loved ones. Involving older persons and their loved ones can help improve the quality of our research through better alignment with their experiential knowledge, ideas, needs and priorities. An effective design of this involvement is very important in this respect.

Current research

GEREED STUDY - READY for advance care planning conversations in dementia

In this study we examine how readiness for advance care planning conversations can be increased in people with dementia, family caregivers and healthcare professionals. We will develop and evaluate a training for healthcare professionals to increase readiness and utilize conversation aids for advance care planning conversations.

CARED-4 - Family involvement in a stepwise multidisciplinary intervention for challenging behaviour and pain in advanced dementia.

This project expands a stepwise intervention that addresses challenging behaviour and pain in nursing home residents with dementia by involving family caregivers.

Participation in research

Participation in research of persons with dementia and residents in long-term care facilities. A study aiming to design an approach to involve older care home residents and people living with dementia in scientific research. Research with the client, by the client.

mySupport

Family Carer Decision Support Study (mySupport). A transnational effectiveness-implementation evaluation of an intervention developed to support family caregivers in advance care planning for nursing home residents with dementia.
