eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation (GR) is still in the early stages, and little is known about its scientific effectiveness. It is often difficult for professionals to assess which eHealth applications could be useful for their patients. In addition, the range of applications is so extensive that people often cannot choose. In short, the possibilities regarding eHealth in GR are growing, but developments are currently lagging behind. The aim of this line of research is therefore to contribute to the scientific basis of this subject, and also to support GR practice in making choices and successfully implementing eHealth.
This research programme consists of three components:
- Systematic review: a systematic review of current literature focusing on effectiveness, usability, and feasibility of eHealth interventions within geriatric rehabilitation.
- Practice-based survey: a national and international survey to collect practical experiences of professionals regarding the current use of and experiences with eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation, consisting of:
- Pilot (inter)national survey eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation: practice-oriented project in collaboration with Leiden University of Applied Sciences.
- National survey eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation: practice-oriented project in collaboration with Leiden University of Applied Sciences.
- International survey eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation.
- Standardization eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation: reaching international consensus on the definition and principles (classification, goals, target groups) of eHealth in geriatric rehabilitation based on systematic review and (inter)national survey using a Delphi method.
